Three Nights in Sorrento

What does one do in Sorrento? Go to the beach, eat great seafood and do a little shopping. As this was our third visit to this lovely place, we relaxed and just enjoyed those three activities. 
Off to Napoli tomorrow via ferry.

Parma

We took an hour-long train ride northwest of Bologna to Parma. This is another lovely town, very uncrowded except for the Italian school kids on their end-of-year field trips. We walked the narrow streets and alleyways, stopping at the Duomo and a café or two for wine.  We were very lucky to come across an exhibit commerating the 80th Anniversary of the liberation of Parma from the Nazis and paying homage to the many partisans who resisted the occupation. It reminds us how harmful fascism and nationalism can be. It was also great to remember that once we were heroes. We leave tomorrow to return to Rome and meet up with our tour! A presto!
