Pioggia, Vino ed Arte
Woke up to heavy rain so morning nature hike was canceled. The weather didn't prevent us from touring the local Fontefico Winery. We were treated to another delicious vegetarian lunch paired with Pecorino d'Abruzzo Superiore 2023 and 2024 (bianco) and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva 2018 (rosso). We're having two cases shipped home.🍷🍷🍷
When the rain let up, we took a short walk along the Vasta Beach to see La Bagnante, the Italian of Copenhagen's Little Mermaid.

Our final dinner in Abruzzo took place at Ettore and Barbara's Fattoria d'Arte...their art farm. They are friends of our guide, Fabrizio, and they welcomed us into their hilltop-home-overlooking-the-sea with a glass of wine and an amazing vegetarian meal. We even created post cards with paint made from the leaves and petals of wild flowers. Fabrizio presented us with diplomas certifying we have become experts in the culture and cuisine of Abruzzo. It truly was a magical evening.
