Olive Oil and Trulli Houses

May is the month of First Communions and we witnessed a lovely one in the beautiful town of Locorotondo. We also stopped off at an olive oil mill and had a tasting and purchased some of our favorite products. How can you leave Italy without its fantastic olive oil?Our final destination was the UNESCO town of Alberobello,  home to hundreds of cone shaped "trulli" houses. We had been here before, but still enjoyed the history and beauty of these unique structures.Of particular interest to us as professional cycling fans was that the Giro d'Italia had sped through this town. A week late and several euro short, we missed it, but appreciated the many pink decorations still hung around town. Why pink?  It's the color of the winning rider of the race.
