Il Pranzo da Rosa....Lunch at Rosa's

Our tour guide, Fabrizio Lucci, is a native of the town of Vasto. We drove to his Aunt Rosa's property to prepare and enjoy a fabulous lunch. We ate it outdoors under the shade of olive trees and large sun umbrellas with a beautiful view of the Adriatic Sea. The small farm is used for family gatherings as well as production of olive oil and wine. They have large gardens for fresh vegetables,  especially tomatoes,  which eventually are used in the many homemade dishes. We had water infused with lemons picked right off the tree and fantastic carafes of red and rosé wine made from their grapes. A little donkey, purchased to amuse the grandchildren, seranaded us with some rather loud braying.
The weather was perfect....sunny and warm, and the company and hospitality was delightful. Definitely Italia Sweet Italia.
